electronnes

electronnes is a small festival.

«electronnes» does not have a theme, but varying content and takes many forms. It is an attempt, in a little city like Zurich, to make visible female practices in the fields of art/technology. It is not important if a project is concerned with feminist issues, even though some may choose it to be.

«electronnes» is not about feminism. «electronnes» is the result of an examination of feminism as part of our practice. «electronnes» may be feminist in the sense only, that it makes visible the work of women* and is based on collaboration and support of women* of each other.

electronnes is radical bottom-up. electronnes is not curated, but organised-by-doing.

electronnes is a beginning.
electronnes is open to all (genders).

who?

electronnes emerged from a group of women* who met at irregular intervals over a period of a year, to discuss and exchange about their projects, ideas and circumstances of their creative work. All participants work in the fields of art /culture/ the digital and technological. It is a very heterogenic group, and this diversity is very important to us. What connects us is our interest in the network, in encounters and for the specific topics that a female* only group produces (which we re-discover again and again).

*points to all various forms of femininity
